Stop & Shop

This Stop & Shop involved the addition and renovation of an existing supermarket in historical Lexington, Massachusetts. The architecture was subject to review by the local historical commission and planning board. The building had to project a historical feel without being a literal interpretation of local architecture. Communication with neighboring residents was an integral part of the design and planning process. The success of the project was the sense that the building was always there because of the store's ability to blend with surrounding architecture.
