Richard F. Griffin,
AIA
Mr. Griffin is a founding partner of the architectural
firm Peterson/Griffin Architects, Ltd. where he serves as the president
of the corporation.
Professionally, Mr. Griffin provides expertise in the
area of strategic planning of architectural issues involving zoning, land-use
and special permitting and public processes.
Mr. Griffin graduated from the Boston Architectural
Center, where he now serves as an adjunct faculty member in the practice
curriculum. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the
Boston Society of Architects. Mr. Griffin is the Chairman of the City of
Newton, Urban Design Commission and he is also a member of the City of Newton
Designer Selection Committee.
In the city of Boston, Mr. Griffin is a member and
former Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Vietnam Veterans Workshop,
Inc. d/b/a the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, a federally chartered
501c3 charitable corporation with a six million dollar operating budget
from 1995 to 2003 and served as Chairman of the Board from 2002 to 2003.
Mr. Griffin was recently appointed as a member of the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development, Designer Selection Committee.
Mr. Griffin is a Notary Public and a Licensed Construction
Supervisor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Registered Architect (NCARB certified), he holds registrations
in the states of Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey , New Hampshire, Rhode Island,
Vermont, Michigan, Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana and the commonwealths of Massachusetts
and Pennsylvania.
